Vital Things To Consider When Having A Banner Or Poster Printed To Market Your Business
Have you ever thought about designing your own banner or poster for your business? You can get some great results and they are not expensive to have made. With the advance of technology you can now use online printing services and they will deliver them right to your door. As soon as you have them you can plan your strategy to take your business to the next level. After all, you won’t get anywhere without the proper marketing. What you’ll need will depend on where you plan on using them. If you’re just a local business you might have success having posters printed and putting them up in local shop windows. Somewhere people will always see them. You could also have banners printed and you have a bit more leeway in where you can use them. But one thing is certain: if they look like crap you’ll be wasting your time. That’s why we’re now going to go over important things to consider when having one made.
Use amazing typography
Typography doesn’t cost you anything, yet it’s one of the easiest ways to set yourself apart from every other person out there. If you have a poster up in a shop it will likely not be the only one. You can choose to go with the same tired typography as everyone else, or you can choose to be different. You have absolutely tons of templates to look at and choose what you like. If you want to take it one step further you could also pay someone to help you. I’m sure a college kid would do it for cheap.
Try a little humor
Humor is a hard one to get right. Most people fail miserably and would have been better leaving it out. But when you get it right it can be a positive thing. It can shine your business in a very bright light. Since it’s so easy to get wrong you will have to ask lots of people before you commit to whatever you design. Try asking people who don’t love you because they will only want to make you feel good. That means they will lie, but they’ll do it in a nice way.
The image needs to be right
The first thing anyone will see when they look at your work will be the image. This means you will need something that catches their eye and draws them in. You can have the best copy in the world but if nobody ever gets the chance to read it then you’re wasting your time. It doesn’t need to be crazy, but you should spend a little time trying to figure out what your customers might like. It should obviously relate to your business is some way, but how creative you want to be is entirely up to you.
Get the colors right
If you just go with a plain white background there is every possibility you will put someone to sleep while they are looking at it. But the trick is to not go wild and use as much colors as possible. That’s definitely overkill. If you’re stuck on what colors to use you could take a little drive to where you want your posters/banners to go up and see what other people are using. Choose one that looks really good and use it for inspiration.
Offer a deal
People like to save money. If you can think of a little offer to give the customers you should give it a try. It will cost you money. That’s unfortunate. You’ll have to decide if it’s worth it. Will you still be able to make money on that customer? Can you turn them into a repeat buyer? Sometimes it’s worth it to sacrifice a little in the beginning to build your business even bigger. You’ll get a lot more customers if you give them something for free. What that is will depend entirely on you.
